Participation in Mission Fundraising is REQUIRED in addition to your financial contribution. If you have not helped with the Yard Sale or Glorious Gifts, this Pancake Supper Fundraiser is required. CLICK HERE to sign up for a volunteer opening.
If you did not attend the Mandatory Mission Trip Meeting you must contact Ansley before you register.
Please note this deposit is non-refundable! Once you register, you agree to pay the full amount of $350 unless financial aid has been arranged.
What Kinds of Project Work Will We Do?
Students may serve all or part of the week at a food shelf, clothing distribution center, soup kitchen, children’s program or elder care facility.
During a week in Daytona Beach, your group will get a fuller experience of this community than most tourists will ever experience. You’ll serve and get to know seniors, children, people who are homeless or in transition, and adults with special needs. YouthWorks also partners with some great local organizations committed to serving Daytona Beach on an ongoing basis. Your group will join these partners in communicating love and hope to this community. In the evenings, you’ll explore more of the Daytona Beach community, including visiting the beach, attending a local church service and enjoying a community cookout. YouthWorks has partnered with this community since 2005.
There is a possibility of sharing music for some of our worksites. Musical components are still TBD.
What is a Typical Day Like?
6:45 a.m. Breakfast Crew in Kitchen
7:00 a.m. Wake Up
7:15–7:45 a.m. Breakfast (Everyone also packs their own lunch during this time.)
7:45–8:15 a.m. Breakfast/Building Cleanup
8:25–8:50 a.m. Personal Devotion Time
9:00 a.m. Gather and Depart for Service Sites (Lunch is around noon at service sites.)
3:30 p.m. Depart from Service Sites
3:30–5:30 p.m. Showers, Afternoon Snack, Adult Leader Meeting, Dinner Crew Prepares Meal
5:30–6:30 p.m. Dinner and Cleanup
6:30–8:45 p.m. Evening Activity and Snack*
8:45–9:30 p.m. Large Group Gathering
9:30–10:30 p.m. Church Group Time and Prepare for Bed
11:15 p.m. Lights Out
